wooow, good to see you got the scimi home safe, looks like you'll start from scratch from what i can see, that's what i would end up doing also, you might even wanna split the hull just to do it right from the begining, ive got a good reference for brand new and rebuilt motor's for all the guys here on the sight, this company is great, decent price, and quick shipping. good luck!!!

yes, it will definately be in half, and stripped to nothing. inside and out. you would not believe some of the things I have found on this boat. I seriously doubt there has ever been a Scimitar project that has started out in worse shape or more neglect than this one. believe me, I am happy to have it, but I will be even happier to un-do all that has been done wrong to this beauty.
 wow.

OleRed,
if you were on 95, then I know exactly what you mean... I had to deal with that going to VA for my CVZ and for the CVX that I just sold.

I got a few pics of this poor neglected girl. she has not been treated well at all. while it will take some time, it will be a proud vessel once again. if anyone needs any original motor/drive pieces, let me know, it will be replaced with Mercruiser equipment and a new powerplant. I am thinking about a 383 stroker fastburn GM crate motor, but we'll see.

It's home. smile

It has been a LONG day. If you ever have the chance to go to NYC... don't. Had to drive through Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. Twice. Never again.

Anyway, it's alot worse than described, it will be a total project. Has sat for much longer than I was told, floors and interior are rotted, so I am sure everything else is at least as bad. And, it's an OMC drive, and I was told Mercruiser. no Perhaps I will raise the drive while I am cutting the new hole after it's all re-done. I think I am gonna gut everything, motor, drive, wiring, etc. and just start over (all new wood throughout the boat of course).

It is an '81, and I could see some gold/orange flake poking thru. Not sure what I am gonna do as far as color yet, but this tomato red has to go. I am sure it would buff out to a nice shiny red, but it's not for me.

There will be lots to do, and I will post my progress. Still need to finish my CVZ-19 so that I have something to run for now, because my CVX-18 sold quicker than I thought it would, so I don't have anything that runs now! I am hoping to have that done in a few weeks... interior is lookin real good. I'll get some pics up of that soon.

Here's the only pic I have of the Scimitar, it was dark when I got home, and the spotlight is only shining on part of it, but, it's home, and I will get some more pics of what's left of this thing as soon as I can.

Goofy,
nah, it's just a whole lot of misinformation and misunderstanding. This one was also mistaken as the James Bond boat. Seller was passing along the information they were given, and fortunately, it will be somewhere that it is GREATLY appreciated for what it is. From what I have gathered so far, it's a repaint, but I assure you, it will change! ;) pictures soon....
