Hello to you Ole Red and fellow Carlsonites. Thank you Red for the insight you provided regarding my really messed up gas tank. Moreover,as you pointed out to me that it is possible to remove the tank via the ski locker hatch opening, on the driver side. Based on our phone conversation and the details you set forth,I reviewed the pictures you posted here on the forum of Gary's Scimitar restoration and specific photos of how the gas tank is secured to the platform it is setting on. Wow...it definitely looks doable!!! I thought it might be helpful for me to post some pics I took of the cut out I made to the bottom of the hatch opening for some one else who is having difficulty with dried up gas resin on the bottom of their gas tank. I will keep ya' all informed as to my progress,removing my tank and replacing it with a new one! Best regards, Pelican Bill
