me and the Fox put in on the Oklahoma river, downtown Okc just before sundown, saw one of the most beautiful sunsets we ever saw, lots of people were already setting off fireworks down there, we anchored in the middle of the river where it's about 100 yards wide, with-in minutes there were Thousands of people busting off fireworks, many of the aerial burst were comercial size, just unbelievable, went on continually for Two solid hours, it was like a boom contest.  I just can't express on here what it was like to set in the middle of all the noise and explosions for Two solid hours, right over our heads.
As Always, there was one group of guy's, teen agers, that thought it would be funny to aim those areials at our boat, several landed burst on and in our boat, the Fox took cover to the front seat, just as one exploded right on the back of our boat sending fire balls on us and in the boat.  I plugged in my 1,000,000 candle power spot light and pointed it right on them, five of them, until they walked away from the river, then I pulled up anchor and moved down river a ways.  There were a few more dummy's, the Okc police were patroling the area and made a few contacts to people that were having roman candle fights.
There was a kayak group of about 40+ boats there also, then some canoe's and small boats also, many of them left that area when the they realized some folks were aiming fireworks towards them, kinda sad that a few bad apple's like that is likely to ruin the the privelage of celebration down there for Thousands of people and their families who play it safe and follow the rules.
All-in-all it was the best 4th I think we have experienced.
