Brian,
I purchased my vents for the rear at Atwoods.

Just measure for the correct size. Mine looked great and I also picked up a set for Red's at the same time.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the info. Will be calling Dennis after 9. I think he is in the same time zone as me. I guess a good wipe down on the inside is more in line then. The foam in the transom is just as brittle I guess I just got lucky. When I pinched some out it turns to powder.

Can you guys post some pictures of the engine compartment finished. Mine was disassembled when I bought the boat. All the pieces (compartment walls) seem to be there, I found an aluminum brace I suppose that goes across the top to support the sun deck I'm just not sure if anything is missing.

Oh yes I also need the chrome air intake and exhaust louvers for the sides of the boat. Any ideas?

Dennis Moore 626-357-3573  thats who I get my exhaust manifolds from, Bill too, he is a great fellow, just give him a call, he's in California.

Secondly, I haven't measured it, or else I forgot if I did, but I think the trailer under my boat is 23 ft in length, there is almost two feet of boat sticks out past the transom, so the trailer don't need to be much longer than the boat.

Hold That Thought ! 
I steamed a hull befor .. and Ruined the gelcoat, blowed up some hair too, made pits like pin heads all over it, exposed quite a bit of mat,  heck of a mess.  I'd be really careful inside the hull for sure, or you might blow up some of the over-lay on the floor, be a chance of getting moisture under the floor.

The foam under the floor is Brittle, thats a Really Good sign, if you get the same finding in the lower portion of the transom, and bottom of the boxes .. then you have a rare find there ... Good Deal

I am sure anxious to see what that baby weighs ..

Hi Guys, All my engine components are in my shop except the exhaust manifolds. I've not managed to find a supplier yet. I thought ole sent me a link on another posting but I couldn't find it. If anyone knows where to get the GLM aluminum kit I'd appreciate the heads up.

The boat is now in the repair side and is patiently waiting. I have drilled a few holes and the foam is dry. It even seems a little brittle if thats possible. I've called a friend to loan my his portable scales so I can weigh this thing before I start.

I figure the first thing I'll do is remove the interior and steam clean the insides. Then I'll paint it white like Bill's. Next I'll install the engine and then prepare the body for paint. The upholstry shop next door will hopefully have it back to me by the end of this month.

I will post some before during and after pictures as soon as I cornor my son to show me how to do it.

I'm also looking at trailers I've found a Four Winns tandem but it only measures 20ft long and I'm not sure if it is long enough. Any help on this would also be appreciated.

Wow ... Bill, you have done some really Good Work on that baby,  and the motor looks Great !

Do you have the little rubber plugs that go into the drain holes through the stringers, and there are two more that go into the bulkhead in front of the motor, those are a must to be in place.  I like the way you cut the little arches in the wood on the platforms, to keep from trapping water there,  thats Cool

Ahoy fellow Scimitarians!  Hmmm,is there such a word?  Yea, now there is biggrin Ok, enough of the tomfoolery and on to the subject at hand. I mentioned to Red that I would take a few more pics of the completed transome and engine area,along with some details of how I resolved and or modified two areas of concern. Hopefully these applications will work "in the real world"...time will tell! confuse 1) Securing the T tops,and2) securing the transome to the trailer,for the purpose of safe towing. Finally, I included some shots of the completed engine and hope to reinstall it this Saturday....wish me luck! Best regards to all and let's hear back from any of you who are in the process of restoration work on your boats.And by all means,send pictures so we can benifit from your perspective on resolving restoration issues.
