RE: Welcome to the New Forum

My Scimitar is a 1982.
It came from Tucson, AZ where it spent most of it's life. The previous owner purchased from the original owner in 1984. The upper portion of the boat has been really baked by the Arizona sun, so it will be getting a new paint soon. The interior was also missing, so with the help of Red and patterns from his Scimitar we are ready to take the seats to the upholstery shop. Hopefully it will be ready for the water about June 1st or sooner if possible. When I get the finished product I'll post some photos.
Geo.

Welcome to the New Forum

Welcome to the New Forum !

Our goal here is to create a factual registry of all the Scimitars we can find,  and give the owners, and other people interested in these boats a place to share their pictures,  history,  information,  location, and just about anything else they would like to share about these boats.

There are very few rules on the forum,  although the forum was created to talk about the Scimitars,  there shouldn't  be any problems talking about similar boats so long as the general content of the discussion is about the Scimitars.

My Boat :

I purchased my Scimitar in September 2007 from The Boat Warehouse near Chesapeake City, Maryland.  It was taken in trade for a later model boat, from the original owner, it had been sitting in the boat yard there for about two years and not used.

The boat was a mess when I first saw it, been stored out side un-covered for some time, the gel coat was faded, the floor was soft, the original carpet was faded and mildewed, and the seat frames were all rotted.  The motor had been replaced with a new long block and had very few hours on it before it was traded in by it's original owner, and the owner of the Boat Warehouse told me that he had also rebuilt the the outdrive.  Some of the original documents and all the original manuals came with the boat when I bought it.  The road trip to go get the boat was 3148 miles round trip from Oklahoma City.

I took it to the lake here in Okc to see how it performed, it ran out great, then I took it home and began the restoration.  I have included a link to a slideshow of the project, and a video of the first time the Fox and I took it out, and by the way ... She Loves it too.
